The Spartans 12U Junior Girls closed out their 2008 - 2009
season by capturing the
2009 St. Henry's Tournament Championship with a 53 - 21 victory
over Troy CYO; the
Spartans defeated Queensbury 38 - 30 in the semi-finals.

St. Helens Spartans Capture Schenectady County CYO 6th Grade
Girls Championship!!!!!
St. Helen's defeated St. John's 29 -
10 in the Schenectady County CYO
Championship Game on 3/9/2009 at Bishop Gibbons Notre Dame HS.

Congratulations to the Spartans 12U Junior Girls for winning the
2009 Glens Falls
Super Hooper Tournament (7th Grade Girls Division) on
2/22/2009;
the Spartans
defeated Saratoga in the semi-finals and previously
undefeated
Queensbury
in
the finals - each by identical scores of 33 - 32.
St. Helens returns all but one player from
last years squad which finished 16-7 in CYO play and
24-11 overall. The Spartans were a Finalist in the 2008 Glens Falls Invitational Tournament
(6th Grade
Girls 'A' Bracket) losing in the Championship Game by 2 points to
Queensbury. St. Helens was a
Semi-Finalist in the 2007-2008 Schenectady County CYO Tournament losing to
champion St. Mary's 34-29.
The Spartans AAU Teams
(both 11U and 12U)
will be active throughout the season.
Among the Spartans many accomplishments last season was a
2nd place finish in the Girl's 6th grade 'A' Bracket
of the prestigious 2008 Glens Falls Basketball Tournament -
in which they defeated travel teams from Clifton Park,
South Glens Falls, and South Colonie.
